Finding The Courage To Be
Welcome

Sometimes life feels more difficult than usual and it can be hard to know where to turn for support.

Perhaps you have experienced a lot of change, such as redundancy, the death of a loved one or the end of a relationship. You might be feeling lost, but you don't know what's wrong. Or you might be feeling low and unhappy, wondering how to get the spark back in your life.

In therapy you can explore your thoughts and feelings without being judged. It will help you understand your internal struggles and the world outside.

It can help you find the courage it takes to deal with life's difficulties and to live fully and confidently.

I am a registered Counsellor and Coach based in Harrogate, and I am here to help

About Me

I haven't always been a counsellor. I have enjoyed a long and successful career in education; first as a teacher, then in leadership roles and headship.

My emphasis was always on creating relationships that enable people to grow, develop and thrive.

Now, as a professional Counsellor I create nurturing relationships with people who find they are stuck, unable to thrive, suffering.

I provide a safe space both physically and emotionally, where I meet clients to listen and hear their story, their experience, without judgement.

By exploring this experience together, meaning can be found and healing begin.

I work with young people (16+) and adults.

“Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be;

embrace who you are.”

What To Expect:
Counselling

In your first session we will explore your reasons for getting in touch, what changes you would like to make and how often you would like to meet.

Usually sessions are weekly but sometimes people benefit from more than one a week and occasionally people prefer fortnightly.

It is up to you and we can discuss it together.

If, by the end of the first session, we decide we can work together we will discuss the practical aspects of our Counselling Contract (time of the sessions, cancellation, holiday etc.)

In sessions I will listen carefully to you and help you explore your thoughts and feelings. This can help you begin to understand your internal struggles and how the world is affecting you.

I currently offer Zoom or phone sessions and hope to reopen my face to face practice soon.
